DECLINE OF DOLLAR
WELL BELOW PARITY
MARKET PRICES RISE

NEW YORK, November 8.
The French franc soared to a new high record of 6.175 cents and) sterling to 4.96, and the gold value of the dollar dropped over a cent, to 63.45 cents in the foreign exchange markets today. This set a new low record for American currency since the United States abandoned tho gold standard and compared with' the indicated gold value of 62.54 cents based on the new price for gold fixed' at Washington. The stock market turned sharply upward, leading shares ' gaining one to six points at the finish. Cotton, despite an increased . crop . estimate, advanced 150 cents a bale and wheat was up at one time 4 cents and finished 2| cents higher. .
