WASHINGTON, November 8.
President Roosevelt'today announced the expansion of tho Federal relief programme, aimed at taking four million men off public relief rolls. The plan involves the creation of a civil works administration and the use of 400 million dollars of public works funds. It is intended that two million men be put on self-sustaining work by November 16 and an additional like number of men shortly thereafter. Ail will be on a thirty-hour week.
