SHIPMENTS BEGIN

BUSY PERIOD AHEAD

The now export season for New Zealand dairy produce and frozen meat is already under way. The first cargo vessels taking shipments from the Dominion have alricady left these shores.., ■The first, consignment of lambs for the Christmas trade in Great Britain loft last week by the- Now Zealand Shipping Company's Bemuera, and further cargoes of lamb will be' taken by the Tamaroa, Kangitiki, and Port Nicholson within the next few weeks. Ihe Tamaroa will be the first of these ships to get away, leaving, Auckland on November B'for Southampton and London. She will be followed by the Port Nicholson two days later and the. Bangitiki on November 17. Tho Tamaroa and the Bangitiki will tako the Panama Canal routo while the Port Nicholson will go via Cape Horn, . VESSELS IN BALLAST.

One of the surest indications that the export season is 'beginning is afforded by tho number of vessels in ballast coming from Great Britain to load here. Among those now on the trip out aro the Hertford, which left Liverpool last Thursday, tho Otira, which loft London last Wednesday, tho Norfolk, due at Wellington on November 29, and the Ganonesa, which left London last Saturday morning. The Pakeha left London on September 26 with cargo for Australia, and after discharge there she will come to New Zealand and load for Home, beginning about November 22. Vessels on the way out to discharge cargo in New Zealand before loading Homewards are tho Akaroa, Karamea, Port Gisborne, Botorua, and Eangitano.

Of the vessels at present loading on the coast the Commonwealth and Dominion motor-freighter Port Alma is to leave Auckland this evening for London and West Coast ports, of the United Kingdom. The Kia Ora leaves Auckland on November 15, Others include thp Port Nicholson,' Baugitiki, and Tamaroa, already mentioned. Those- at present discharging, but due to commence loading shortly, are the Cumberland, leaving Auckland on December 5, and the Port Huon, leaving Auckland on November 30.

•> The new wool export season does not begin for somo time yet. The first wool sales are due to take place towards tho end of November, and will continue until the end of next April. The fruit season commences about tho beginning of February. Indications aro that there is a busy, period ahead in, all sections of the New Zealand export business.
