IMPORTS FROM BRITAIN
IN DOMINION'S INTERESTS

AUCKXAKD, October 19.
The council of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce today resolved: "That it is in the, best interests of this country to buy as great a proportion of its imports from Britain as possible, and that the resolution bo forwarded to every chamber of commerce in New Zealand and thoy bo asked to take the matter up with their respective councils."
During the discussion the question of imports from Japan was referred to.
London has 11,500 cab-drivers to drive its 8200 cabs, but owing to vehicles being overhauled,' there are' seldom more than 7600 on the streets. Thus ;there are 14 drivers, to every 10' cabg.
