COLONIAL SUGAR CO.
In order to secure greater freedom of action an amendment to the deed of settlement is proposed by the directors of the Colonial Sugar Refining Company, Limited. At a special general meeting in Sydney to be held on November 8 shareholders will be asked to approve certain amendments to the deed by deletion of the words "in any Australian Colonies, New Zealand, and Fiji," in certain paragraphs and substituting "the Commonwealth of Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, or elsewhere." The chief object of these changes, according to the company's circular, is to permit the company to extend its activities and its avenues for investment beyond its present sphere and territory.
