YOUNG FOLKS' PARTY
LOWER HUTT EFFORT
Throngs oi' young i'ulk- arrived at St. Peter's Hall, Lower Hutt, o.i Saturday afternoon to take part in (lie fancy-1 dress party arranged by Mrs. H. Mitchell, in aid of the Plunket Society's funds. A delightful programme of items | was given by some of the children, and all thoroughly enjoyed the games and dances, for which Mrs. McKay played the piano. All varieties of costumes wore worn by the children, some of whom were very tiny, and prizes were awarded 'for'the most outstanding frocks.. The judges wore Lady Roberts, Mrs. Craig ! McKenzic, and Mrs. Whitton. Mrs. Cameron (the society's secretary) assisted ■in entertaining the young guests. i A "Maypole" dance was a particularly | attractive item, and other perfornierg were the pupils of Miss Bartosh, Judy Lewis, and Betty Elliott (Irish jig), Paulino McKane (Maori haka), Eita Guise (Hungarian dance), Dinah Elliott (Eussian dance), and Peggy Marshall (Highland fling). Tea, provided by tho Plunket committee, was served to tho children and their parents, and there were many very attractive dishes. The committee's thanks were extended to Mr. House, who acted as master of ceremonies, und to .Rev. Father Daly, S.M., for the loan of the hall.
