, The Wanganui and Mar.ton. harrier clubs held their championships^iu conjunction over the New Zealand championship 10,000 metres course on Saturday last. C. Weller, Wanganui, was first man home, followed a minute later by his team-mate K. Johnston. G. Johnston finished third, winning the Wanganui Club's junior championship. Hill, who finished fourth, won the premiership of the Marton Club. He is a newcomer to cross-country running this season, and shows great promise. The Wanganui selector has chosen two teams to compete at New Plymouth in the provincial championships on August 12. Four of those in > the' A team. competed for the West Coast (N. 1.) Centro at tho New Zealand championships last year. Arrangements arc now well in hand for the. national champions-hips to be held on August 26. Visiting athletes will be entertained' ■! at a dinnerj a danep, and a trip up the river to Parikino.
