The lieutenant has been the assistant officer at Christchurch for some time, and is to take up similar duties in Wellington under the direction of Colonel Toomer. The Citadel Band will attend the funeral of the late Mr. A. Thurkettie, of Oriental Bsy, who passed away suddenly on Friday morning. There will be a service at the Congregational Church at 2.30 p.m., and immediately afterwards the cortege will leave for the Karori cemetery.
