SYNOPSIS OF LAST 24 HOURS.
The recent disturbance Is now east of the Dominion, and pressure is rising with tho advance across the Tasman Sea of a~ very intense anticyclone.' Strong southerly winds have prevailed with cold, boisterous weather and rain in most districts, some heavy falls having occurred about Cook Strait and in Taranaki. In Westland, however, conditions have been improving, and this morning it was mainly fine and clear ther^.
