PROGRESSIVE BOWLS
A progressive bowls competition provided a most enjoyable evening for representatives of the various departments of the "Evening Post" on the indoor bowling green. An even distribution of players in eight rinks resulted in keen cqmpetition, and only one rink during the evening's series was unchecked in the "winuer-move-on" system adopted for the contest. The participants included a number of well-Known bowlers who found the "greens" much faster than those to which they were accustomed. The tournament results summarised were as follows:—L. C. Blundell, Jacobson, Adams, Hornblow (s), 4 wins; Hewitt, Roberts, W. J. Blundell, Page (s), 3 wins, 1 loss; Le Grys, Nickless,' Lomas, Swiney (s), 3 wins, 1 loss; Mellor, Athea, Hanratty, Brown (s), 3 wins, 1 loss; McLean, Gibbons, B. Blundell. Moffitt (s), 1 win, 3 losses; Knight, NobleCampbell, Freeman, Campbell- (s), 1 win, 3 losses; McGce, Bulgin, M. Blundell, Ross (s), 1 win, 3 losses; Clark, Lewis, Bishop, Turner (s), 4 losses. The innovation was received, enthusiastically as a popular addition to "The Post's" field of sport.
