FAREWELL GIFTS
ST. CUTHBERT'S ORGANIST
The parishioners of St. Cuthbert's Church, Berhampore, entertained Miss Thora Husband at St. Cutbert's Hall on Thursday evening on the eve of her marriage to Mr. A. J. Fraser. There was a large attendance of parishioners, and an interesting programme of vocal and instrumental music, recitations, dancing by children, games, and dances was presented. Mr. Eddin's orchestra provided the dance music, and Mr. J. Hill made a most efficient, master of ceremonies.
On behalf of the parishioners the vicar, the Rev. N. S. Barnett, presented Miss Husband with a beautiful dinner service. He stated that Miss Husband had spent most of her life in Berhampore, having attended St. Cuthbert's Sunday School for several years. While still in her early teens she had been appointed organist of St. Cuthbert's Church, a position which she had held right up to the present. She had been a most conscientious and reliable organist, for which he th.anked her. The present being made was a mark of the parishioners' gratitude and love. They wished her every happiness.
The guest was greeted with musical honours. Her father (Mi". W. Husband) responded on behalf of his daughter, thanking all present for their kindness and good wishes. After supper the singing of "Auld Lang Syne" brought the proceedings to 'a close.
