OLD BOYS' DANCE

Old boys of St. Patrick's College canicsto Wellington from all parts of the North Island-to, be present at the annual dance organised by the Old Boys Association, which was held last evening at the Mayfair Cabaret. Tho cabaret was crowded, and tho evening was a particularly successful one Festoons of wide blue and white streamers decorated the arches, and giant streamer tassels hid the pillars of tho main ballroom; the college colours wero again much ioi evidence in the supper room. On each panel of the ballroom was hung a pale blue plaque on which was silhouetted a figure representing each branch of the college's sports and activities.

The committee which was responsible tor the arrangements included Misses Eileen Goodson (who wore a frock of shell pink moire with a jacket of crushed velvet), Mary McEvedy (who wore a picture frock of white organdie r?"n i * being comPosed of tiny frills), ■Kathleen Goodson (in hydrangea blue georgette with scarlet flowers at the low v back), and Messrs. B. O'E. Cahill (Hon. secretary)'■ F. McParland, P. McCarthy, W. Hart, P. O'Connor, L B. Day, M. O'Connor; and L. Gooch. The hostess was Mrs. Bernard McCarthy (Hawera), who wore a longsleeved frock of sapphire blue lace. She was presented with a bouquet of beautiful spring flowers. She was accompanied by Mr. McCarthy. Among those present . were Eev. Father J: Dowling, S.M. (Hector of St. Patrick's College, Silverstream), Key. father.A. Cullen, S.M. (Eector of St. Patrick's College, Cambridge Terrace), Eev. Fathers J. J. Kennedy, T. Cleary, P. Cahill, and B. Kingan, S.M., and the prefects of both colleges. Others present were:—

Goodson (wearing black lace), Mr. and Mrs. Leo Poff, Mr. and Mrs. George Hales (the latter in tomato-red lace), Dr. and Mrs. E. O'Began (the latter in string-coloured Chanel lace), and Mr. and Mrs. C. Bell.
