Kitchen Tea. A delightful afternoon "kitchen tea" was given recently by Miss Audrey Harper at her home, Morton Street, Berharnpore, in honour of Miss Thora Husband. Miss Husband woru a frock of floral crepe do chine in autumn colourings, and Miss Harper's ; frock was of rust-coloured wool crepe de chine. The afternoon was spent in games, amusing competitions, and singing. Many parcels wore received in which . were . found many amusing :_as well as very useful articles for the kitchen. Concert at Ohiro Home. i The inmates of the Ohiro Home wero entertained recently by the choir of the Congregational Church and friends, Under the direction of their pastdr, the Rev. H. W. Newell. Items were given by Misses N. Coster and Smith, and Messrs'. Boy Hill, McGill, and Boosey. A 'most enjoyable evening was spent, and after a light refreshment the entertainment closed with a well-deserved 'vote of thanks to the visitors for their kindness. Young People's Parties. The Marsdcn School Parents' Association will hold two young people's parties next month, the . very young ones to have a fancy-dress party in the afternoon, and the older ones in the evening. The committee of the Parents' Association will be chaperons. Musical Afternoon. A musical afternoon was given by the Ladies' Auxiliary of thq V.M.C.A. yesterday to raise funds for their queen candidate, Miss Dorothy Hay. Camolias, yellow jonquils,'and mimosa filled the vases on mantelpiece and f'tables, and the reception-room was comfortably arranged to accommodate the large number of guests. Mrs. E. P. Hay had arranged an enjoyable musical programme which was contributed, to by tho. following , artists:—Madame de Mauny, Mrs.-Wilfred Andrews, Misses Viviciiiio Blainircs, Doris Black, Iris and Zclma Mason. Children's Party at Island Bay. Nearly 100 children, attended the fancy-dress, party given recently by! Miss Marie Strnnge-Muro at'her "Balcaskio" private kindergarten, Island Bay. Many charming and original costumes were worn, adding tho party atmosphere to procoe'dings. Kindergarten games wcro played, and the small guests were delighted with dancing items given by Miss ■ Vaughan's pupils under the supervision of Miss Lees. Mr. Bitchie proved an excellent M.C. Among those present wore Mrs. H. E. Gibbs (president of tho Kinder-, garten Council), Miss R- Holland (acting-principal of the Erco. Kindergarten), Mrs. Herron, Miss Kinueburgh, Miss Elliott, Mrs. Ward, and, Mrs. Friend. A dainty afternoon tea was served, and the singing of the National Anthem brought a happy afternoon to a close. Donations to E.S.A. Tho following donations, among others, were acknowledged at last, night's meeting of the executive of the ■Wellington Returned Soldiers' Association:—Messrs.
