WAIKATO BUTTER INCREASES.
Morrinsville Co-operative Dairy Co. reports an increased output of 649 tons 7cwt of butter, or 30 per cent, on last year; total, 2141 tons lOcwt. The annual summary shows that the number of suppliers increased from 420 in 1932 to 460 in 1933. The average payment for the year over all grades is 9.374 d per lb butterfat, as against 11.853 d for the previous season.
Te Awamutu Co-operative Dairy Company, Limited, reports that its output amounted to 1418 tons of butter, compared with 1158 tons in the previous year, an increase of_ 260 tons. The number of suppliers increased from 289 to 330. A supplementary payment is to be made to all suppliers next month as follows:— December. %cl per lb; February and March, Id; April, %d. A dividend of 5 per cent, on share capital will also be made. The total average payment to shareholders over all grades was 8.90 d per lb butterfat, op 9.20(1, including cream cartage.
