A SERIOUS CHARGE
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH, This Day. j A charge of murdering her newlyborn female child at Inglewood on May 16 and disposing of the body .on the same date with intent to conceal tlio birth, was laid against Bella Thompson, a twenty-year-old Maori woman, in the Inglewood Court yesterday. According to the evidence of a constable, the baby was found buried and wrapped in sacks. The accused allegedly admitted the birth of tho child, after at first denying it. She reserved her defence and was committed for trial. The Magistrate postponed giving his finding as a result of the inquest until after the Supreme Court trial.
