The results in the first round of the Black Cup, played by the Mornington Golf Club, were:—McGirr beat T. C. Johnston, 6 and 4; D. Low beat D. B. Stratmore, 1 up; Wells beat Day, 3 and 1; Taylor beat K. Stephen, 6 and 5; Nicolas and Comeskey, all square; Davis beat Jacobi, 3 and 1; M. Hennessey beat J. Hennessey,, 4 and 3; Barton beat Eobson, 1 up; Evans | and Cooch, all square; Sanford beat Elton, 2 and 1; Shanks beat Morton, 3 and 2; Denniston beat McWhirter, 1 up; Andrews beat T. A. Johnston, 3 and 2; Welsford beat M. MeElligott, 4 and 3; Knudson boat Byng, 5 and 4. The fourth round of the two-life competition resulted:—Evans beat Shale, 3 and, 1; Davis beat M. Hennessey, 3 and 2; Knndsen beat Jacobi, 3 and 2. The best cards in the eighteen hole ] stroke competition were: —L. McGirr, 72, 7—63; T. C. Johnston, SG. 20-66; D. B. Stratmore, 74, 6-68; W. Kilby, 92, 24—. 68. Results in the IS-hole bogey competition were: —W. Knudsen. 1 up; D. B. Stratmore, 1 up; S. "Welsford, all square; G. Estall, 3 down. • Next weekend the Williams Cup will be played for, in a four-ball best-ball' bogey competition, players to select their partners.
