LOCAL TOURNAMENTS
Although overhead conditions were good, the grounds were very heavy for the men's five-a-side and the ladies' seven-a-side tournaments at Karori Park on Saturday. These tournaments are features of the hockey season, and the keen interest they arouse was evidenced by the large number of spectators ■on Saturday. The games in both tournaments ■were very keenly contested, and as a result some good hockey was seen. Owing to the failing light, it was not possible to play the semi-final or final in the senior division o£ the men's tournament, and an endeavour will be made to play these games next Saturday. The winners of the senior division of the ladies' tournament were Swifts A, who beat College Old Girls A by 1 goal to nil. In the semi-finals Swifts A had a bye, and College Old Girls A beat Technical Old Girls by 3 goals to 1. The junior division was won by Petone Technical A, who beat Johnsonville A by 3 goals to nil. Johnsonville A had a bye in the semi-final, and Petone Technical A beat Technical College A 1-nil. MEN'S TOURNAMENT. The following were the results of the men's tournament: — Senior Division (Senior A and B Grades). —Section winners: Wellington B, Wesley A, Karori B. In the final, Wellington B play the winners of the game between the other two section-winners. ■ Junior Division (Junior and Third Grades).—Section winners: Technical A, Wesley A, Karori A, Karori B; semifinal: Technical A, Karori B; Final: Technical A. Third Division (Fourth and Intermediate Grades).—Section winners: Technical A, Karori A; final: Technical A. la section A, Technical A and Wellington A drew, and in the play-off the former team won.
