MR. GEORGE EAGLE
The many friends of ■ Mr. George Eagle of Karori, will learn with regret of his death, which occurred this morning. " Mr. Eagle, who was 76 years of age, underwent an operation from the after-effects of which he failed to recover. Mr. Eagle came to New Zealand at tho age of three, and in his early years he followed farming. pursuits in t)ie Wairarapa. Ho later camo to Wellington, and up to three j-earSago was caretaker of Karori Park. He performed many charitable acts in a'most unobtrusive manner. Ho took a great interest in cricket, and was one of the founders of tho first Knror. Cricket Club. His wife, who was formerly Miss Edith Tarr, predeceased him twentyeight years ngo. He is survived by his brother, Mr. John Eagle, also of Karori.
