S. A. WAR VETERANS
MEETING OF EXECUTIVE The monthly meeting of the Executive Committee of tile Wellington branch of the South African War Veterans' Association was held on Thursday evening. The president, Major P. E. dc B. Brandon, was in the chair.-. , The sub-committee ■ appointed to visit the South African veterans at the Pprirua Mental Hospital I presented its report, and it was resolved to notify the secretary of the New Zealand branch of the Red Cross Society that in future the association would attend to the wants of its own comrades. The.. secretary was requested to write and' thank Drs. Williams arid Marshall for their courtesy to the visitors, and also' to forward a supply of cigarette tobaccp and periodicals for the South African patients. It was also decided to forward a letter of appreciation !to Mrs. Neilson for the kindly care by her committee of the South African veterans' plots at Karori. The resignation from the executive of Captain A. A. Monks was received with regret. ' ; A vote of thanks was accorded Miss Mollumby for donating souvenirs for the museum, also to Major Brandon for four volumes of Army Records, and Mr. H. <T. Murdoch for . seven volumes of a "History, of the South African AVar." The president stated that the term of oflice of the present executive would expire at the end of this month, and arrangements would be made to hold the annual meeting m July. Appreciation was expressed of the services of Mr. A. G. Liddell in drawing the badge of the association to be worked on the flag, which the secretary, Mr. J. I. Goldsmith, undertook to have done.
