NAZI CAMPAIGN

DEFEATED IN DANZIG

NO VOTE FOR NON-RESIDENTS

VOLKSTAG ELECTION

United Press Association—By Electric Tel«eraph—Copyright. (Received May 29, 10 a.m.) j DANZIG, May 28. The Volkstag election was com-1 plcted without disturbance. This was attributed- to the Nazis' conviction that they would receive 70 per cent, of votes. There was much dissatisfaction when the authorities refused to permit voting by thousands of Danzigers, who had travelled from Germany in motorcoaches and on free railway tickets, bo,cause they were non-residents, thereby defeating the German plan to secure an overwhelming majority.
