LONDON, May 27. The billiards championship match resulted in a win for Walter Lindrum, with a score of 21,815't0 W. Davis's 21,121. Lindrum'a breaks included 604, 302, and 73, and Davis's 313 and an unfinished 483. Lindrum Was warmly, acclaimed at the end of the match. This is the first time professional honours have left England. The new balk-line rule affected Lindrum more than any other player, seriously checking his nursery cannon. All critics agree that Davis and Newman have appreciably improved through their association with Lindrum, who has brought British billiards to a higher level than ever. Mr. Bissett, chairman of the Billiards Council, presenting the cup and cheque for £200 to Lindrum, said that the greatest player of all time was taking the billiards '' Ashes'' to Australia.
