NORTHERN STEAM SHIP CO,
Directors of the Northern Sfceam Ship Company, Ltd., Auckland., report a loss of £2430 for the year ended March 31, compared with a profit of /£6BIB in the previous year. The deficit has been written off by the transfer of a similar sum from No. 1 insurance account, send the £1816 brought into the accounts fr/om the previous year is again carried forward. No dividend is recommended, as againist 5 per cent, last year and previous distributions ranging from 7 to 8 per cent. Tin their report for the year the directors state that the net profit, after providing for ordinary repairs, but, not for der/reciation, amounted to £11.223. A.= Mie ninonnt required for depreciation is £13.653. and exceeds the net profit by £2430/, this sum has been charged to No 1 ■ insurance account. Special 4-epairs amounting to £G320- have, as usual, been (charged to No. 1 insurance account, whichJnow stands lat £43,630,-as against £51,339/ a year ago.
