POLITICAL EFFECTS
LONDON, May 20. "The Times" says that the truce at the gates of Peking has saved the Japanese from an embarrassing success; and ma^ well have saved, the Chinese Central Government from complete disaster. Tho political effects cannot easily bo foreseen.
