PARAMOUNT THEATRE.
A famous play' has been made into a film, and the result is " "Whcu London Sleeps," the British Dominions picture, which Is heading the bill at the Paramount Theatre tills week. This production, founded ou the play which has been performed all over the Empire, contains a story with an unusual twist. Tommy Blythc, young man about town, becomes interested in- a circus;-there.he finds a beautiful girl who is to play a strange part In his lite and in that of Rodney Halnes, the. big, powerful owner of, a gambling hpusa and the heir to a To'rtune.t When Blythe, after an unlucky day at the races, stops his car at Lambert! s circus lie does not dream that tho act will lead to a series of remarkable adventures, but it does, and the culminating scene of the fl m is one of a daring rescue and an.act or self-3-icriflce. Diana Beaumont, Harold French, and Kene Kay play the leads in this picture, which is well produced and acted with distinction. The supporting programme, includes the latest British news reels, a musical film, "The Blue Hills of' Antrim." a comedy duct by the Walsh- Brothers, .and a Nature film which shows the zoo in all its phases. In addition. Mr.' Paul T. CiUlcn is heard hi v song "While London Sleeps," an old favourite which Is still' popular.
