THE BIRTHDAY MEETINGS
Today's racing at Woodville completes tho preliminaries to the winter seas-on proper, and nest week the first of the big jumping tests will be decided. The Birthday meetings will be begun with the Dunedin Jockey Club's Winter Meeting, which opens on Wednesday next and will be continued on Thursday and Saturday. Then follow the Otaki-Maori Racing Club's Winter Meeting on Friday and Saturday, the Greymouth Jockey Club's Winter Meeting on Saturday, and the Auckland Racing Club's Winter (Great Northern) Meeting on Saturday and the following Monday and Wednesday. Trotting meetings in the same period will be held by the Hawke's Bay Trotting Club on Thursday and Saturday next, and by the Canterbury Park Trotting Club on Saturday and Mouday. There will also be two trotting items on the Greymouth programme.
