SYDNEY TURF NOTES
KUVERA AND KING'S CUP
(From "Vedette") SYDNEY, May 10. G. Price has high hopes of > winning the King's Cup next month with Kuvera, who looks favourably handicapped at B.G. Price at present is away in Brisbane with Killarney and Veilmond, but will hurry back after Saturday's raciug and go on to Melbourne, where he will have Kiehuka as well as Kuvera. Love Song ran a fair race to iinish second in a mile welter with 9.5 at Randwick last Saturday. It was his best effort for some time. The race was won in remarkable fashion by Ranchero, who was not in the race at the half-mile. Ranchero carried G. Price's colours, something of a. novelty in Sydney. Mr. J. E. Brieu; former owner of Ranchero, acting on medical advice, has retired from racing, and his horses have beeti leased in the main by his trainers, Price and Williams. Price had leased Rauchero less than a week before the success. Prince Pombal and Forestry were unp?aced in the race won by Ranchero from Love Song. Love Song was tried again at Rosebery on Wednesday, but ridden by an apprentice lie was not sighted. He is not an inexperienced rider's mount. After a run of minor plaeings, Battle Maid won at, Rosebery on Wednesday. She is a solid H. 2 pony by Nassau from Light Action.
