The winter scale of weights (eight stone minimum) comes into force on June 7, and will be applied first this year at the Foxton liacing Club's Meeting on June 10. Holders of licences from the New Zealand Racing Conference, also fresh applicants, are reminded that applications for the new season, 1933-34, must he lodged with the respective district committees not later than May 31. According to a southern report Gay Crest is to be prepared for the Winter Cup, and the let-up lie has enjoyed since his Amberley wiu ended this week. An autopsy on Inevitable disclosed a perforated intestine, and it is supposed that he sustained a rupture in the Levels Hurdles at Washdyke last month. Billy Boy's trainer, R. YV. Lewis, stated this week that as D. J. Burgess had been engaged for Thespis in the^C.N. Hurdles he had Obtained the services of L. Bulieu for bis candidate. Dulieu has previously been successful on the horse in the «\utumn Steeples, at lillerslie la6t year, and aieo in the Waikato Hunt Cup. Burgess will, however, be available for the G.N.
