Senator Robinson, of Indiana (RcpubJiean), told the Senate, on Thursday I -that the "usefulness" of Mr. Woodin •' as Secretary of the Treasury has cnded>" as the result of the Jinking, of his name with the stock offerings of the Morgan firm. " ■ .. The inclusion of Mr. Woodin, among the select clients, drew fire also froni Senator Borah, who strongly intimated that Mr. Woodin should resign.. ■ :. Senator McAdoo on Friday told 'the Senate Banking Committee that he had only three transactions with tho Morgan Company, in which he lost 3565 dollars. At Cleveland,. Ohio, Mr. Newton D. Baker, former Secretary of War, whose namo appeared on tho select list of Morgan purchasers, said on Thursday that ho had not made any; profit. He said that the only preference granted by the banking firm was^ tho sale of stock at no profit to themselves.
