GERMAN CLUB

A very pleasant evening was spent by members of the German Club at the'last meeting, which was held in the N.Z.E.I. Chibvoom, "Evening Post" Chambers. The programme consisted mainly of German folk songs, many of them well known all over the world. The items sung were "Ach, Wie ist's Moeglieh -Dann," ."Der Streiten sich die Lent' Herum," "Das Wandern ist dcs IMucllers Luft," "Studio auf einem Eeif," "Wohlauf npcli Gertrimken den Fuiifkclndcn Wein," "In Kineni . Kuejilen Gruude," "Lans, Lang ists' Her," "Im Sehwarzen Walfiscli," "Im Krug.zimi Gruenen Krauze," "Sah em Knab' em Eqslein Stelin." Prior to the community singing, the patron of the dub, Horr Kousul Pensnlcr, gave a reading of Victor yon Scheffcl's poem. '"Kippoidsau," which was much enjoyed. At the conclusion of the evening a light supper was served. The next meeting of the club'is oni June 14,, and those interested are requested to get in touch with, the secretary, Mr. IT. R. Boyle.
