A NATIONAL POLICY

(To the Editor.) Sir, —I have perused with interest "the amended version of "Anti-Sniper's" effort in dashing into print, with particular reference to the New Zealand Legion. It would be interesting to learn the context of. his letter, which the "Evening Post" in their wisdom omitted to publish. ' It is quite apparent from the outburst- that the learned gentleman must have a very nice axe to grind in the party regime of our present sectional Government,, and that he has failed to ascertain the true purpose which, actuated the formation o£ the Legion. I would offer a little enlightenment, as 1 understand it to be, on the public pronouncements made by the Legion in that it has never adopted an antagonistic attitude towards our politicians; on the contrary, it ib most sympathetic towards them, in bo far as they are unfortunately victims of, and subservient to, the evils of a system under the misnomer of democratic government. . In conclusion, it is pathetic to find in our midst people- who, instead of being imbued with national pride, and anxious to offer some'constructive line of thought for the betterment of this fair Dominion, delight in attempting to disrupt an organisation whose paramount ideal and hope is an endeavour to place the country on the road to prosperity, and happiness for all, through the medium of a national policy.—l am, etc.,. . ' FOKTIS IN ARDUIS. May 25.
