KILLED BY TRAIN
INQUIRIES BEING MADE
(By Telegraph.— i'ress Association.). STRATFORD, This Day. . The inquest into the death of Frank Ritchie, a siuglo man, aged 34, who was run over by a train at Whangamomona, was adjourned pending further inquiries. The evidence showed that the deceased left the Kohuratahi relief camp with the intention of joining the midnight goods train at Wliangamombna for Stratford. There was no one on duty at the Whangamomona station when the train passed through. No one saw the accident. • ' While shunting operations were being carried out, a passenger strolled along the platform and heard groans. 'He drew the guard's attention. The deceased was found wedged between the wheels of a truck and the station platform. He was badly injured and was extricated with difficulty. Ho was removed to Stratford,, but died before the train arrived.
