OUTBREAK IN VIENNA
STUDENTS MALTREATED
LONDON, May 10. The Vienna correspondent of tho "Daily Telegraph" says anti-Jewish riots of exceptional brutality started at the Vienna University. Thirty stud* ents were injured, including seven American doctors studying in Vienna, who have lodged a protest with tho American Consulate, The polico stopped disorders in the : streets, but an ancient privilege pre« vented thorn from going to the uni* versity, where Nazi students armed with,stu'.ks studded with nails attacked Jewish Socialist and foreign students, ■who jumped from the windows into tho streets with their faces often stream- ■ ■ ing with blood. A serious aspect of the Austriaa situation is tltc fact that the Civil Service is undermined' by the Nazi move* ment.
