AID FOR EMPIRE WINES
LONDON, May 2. The Duchess of Rutland was hostess at a cocktail party in a West End j hotel tonight—tho preliminary to a series of similar parties, with society hostesses as "barmaids. - The object is to popularise Empire wines. Mr. Hill, the new South Australian Agent-General, representing a State that produces throe-quarters of Australia's wines, and Mr. Lafl'er, who represents Australian vrino on tho Empire Marketing Board, were present. Mr. Laffor expressed appreciation of the scheme.
