(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, May 10. A sharp "rise, in fat sheep values caused by a shortage of quality sorts was the feature at the Addington market today. Fat cattle barely maintained the low level established by weeks of continued . oversupply, while interest In store 6heep was spoiled by the general feed shortage. | Store Sheep.—A medium entry. Little interest was shown, and late rates maintained. Values: Medium ewe . lambs, 6s to 7s lid; ordinary, 4s Cd to 5s 9d: ini'ex'ior, 2s 9d to 4s; medium a.m. halfbrcd ewes, 6s 9d to 7s 3d; ordinary, 4s 6d to 6s; medium two-tooth halfbredi 10s lOd to 12s; small two-tooth three-quarterbred, td 7s 6d; aged and inferior, Is 4d to 4s; ordinary crossbred wethers, to 6s». Fat Lambs.—A Small entry of 2100 met, a very firm sale. Values; Extra prime, 17s lOd; prime, 12s 6d to 15s- mediumweight, 11s to 13s; light, Ss to 10s 6d. . Pat Sheep.—An entry of 5300 met the most buoyant sale for months. The advance on all classes, medium and above, was Is to 2s for ewes, and Is 6d tii 2s a head for wethers. Values were: Extra prime wethers, to '15s 7d; prime, 15s to 17a 6d; prime medium weight, ]3s to 14s 6d; ordinary, lls to 12s 6d; light, 9s to 10s 6d; extra prime heavy ewes, to 16s M; prime, 11s 6d to 13s; prime medium weight, 8s 6d to 11s; ordinary, 6s 6d to 8s; light, 5s to 6s. Fat Cattle.—The entry of 370 head constituted an over-supply, and values were depressed, barely maintaining last week's low level. Best beef sold to ISs a 1001b; good prime, 35s to 17s; heavyweight and medium, 12s Gd to 15s 6d; good heifer, 13s to los Gd; good cow, lla- to 14s; secondary cow, 9s to 11s; rough; down to 6s. Values: Extra prime heavy-steers, to £9 2s- 6d; prime heavy, £6 to £7 10s; prime medium weight, £3 10s to £7; ordinary quality, £3 Ids to £5; light, £1 17s 6d to £3; extra prime heifers, to £7 7s 6d; prime, £3 10a to £5; medium, £2 5s to £3 ss; light, £1 7s 6d to £2; extra prime cows, to £6 2s 6d; prime, £3 to £4; medium, £2 to £3; light, £1 2s 6d to £2. .A medium entry of fat pigs met a steady demand, with values generally above late rates. A few porkers were bought for export. Values: Choppers, 30s to £3; baconers, 35s to 44s 6d; heavy, 47s 6d to 53s 6d; extra heavy, to £2 19s Cd; average price per lb, 3%d to 4d. Porkers: 20s to 25s 6d;'heavy 27s 6d to 31s 6d; average price pel" lb, 394 dto 4%d.
