OLD GIRLS OF ST. MARY'S

• Witli the object of raising money to assist the scholarship fund and also tho furjds of the Upper Hutt Orphanage, th© old girls of St. Mary's College, Hill Street, held a large bridge party last evening in the college assembly hall. The room was made cosy with a glowing fire, and bowls of hydrangeas decorated the stage. Supper was served at the bridge tables, which filled the hall, some of the senior scholars assisting. A committee of old girls, in charge of the arrangements, comprised: Misses Sauuders, Dealy, Beeves, Williams, Anderson, Martiudale, O'Connor, Bickson, and Duffy. Those present included Dr. aud Mrs. Lynch, Mr. and Mrs. O'Leary, Mr. and Mrs. J. Byrne, Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Gamble, Mr. and Mrs. B.
