DEGREES IN DIVINITY
AUCKLAND APPROVES
(By Telegraph.) (Special to "The Evening Post.") AUCKLAND, May 10. The following resolution, moved by tho Rev. Dr. H. Ranston, was carried unanimously at a meeting of the Auckland University College Council: "This University College Council.recommends the Senate of tho University of New Zealand to ''take such steps as are necessary to enable it to confer degrees in Divinity." A month ago a deputation representing the Anglican, Presbyterian, Methodist, Baptist, and Congregational Churches waited upon the council and asked that it should approach the University Senate regarding the matter. Members of tho council expressed sympathy with the proposal and Dr. Ranston was appointed to draw, up a motion for submission to tho nest meeting.
