GOOD BOWLING FIGURES
(Received May 10, 2 p.m.) ; LONDON, May 9. Good bowling figures were a featurt of the eeries of county cricket chani* pionship matches completed today, but there were also some outstanding performances with the bat. Sandham ' (Surrey) and Brown (Hampshire) were each-unbeaten with Scores of 169 and 150 respectively, and among the bowler 9 Paine (Warwickshire) took eleven wickets at small cost. Last year's champions, Yorkshire, played a match with M.C.C., and Gloucestershire met Oxford University, the county team winning in each case. The following are the results: — Warwickshire 295 (Ord 77); Essex 94 (Paine five for 27) and 195 (Paine six for 68). Warwickshire won by an - innings and' 6 runs. Notts 117 (Clay five for 48) and 164 for one wicket, declared (Keetou 83); Glamorgan 125 (S. Staples five for 50). and 91 for five wickets Glamorgan won on the first innings., Surrey 333 (Sandham 169, ,not out; Boyes six for 100) and 128 for five wickets; Hampshire 294 (Brown 150, not out). Surrey won on the. .first innings. Worcestershire 157: (Corriford four tot 48) and 175; Susses 337 for nine wickets, declared (J. Langridgo 80, H. Parks. 75). Sussex won by an innings and 5 runs. Yorkshire 147 .(Peebles eight for 71) and 248 ■ for eight wickets, declared; M.C.C. 127 (Rhodes fivo for 34) and 120 (Macaulay seven for 41). Yorkshire won by 148 runs. Gloucestershire 379 (Sinfield 133; Barlow six for 79) and 113 for two wickets, declared; Oxford University 236 (Walker 107, not out) and 133 (Goddafd six for 55). Gloucestershire won by 124 runs.
