An attempt was made early on Saturday morning to blow open the safe in Messrs. Bills Bros.' premises, in Main Street, -Otaki. The plape ivas entered through a side window, explosive was placed in the keyhole of the safe, and the charge was exploded. However, the charge flew outwards and did as much damago to the room as to the safe, which remained intact with the exception of slight damage to the'lock. . ''. .
