CANNED FRUIT
(To the Editor.) Sir, —"Sunripe," in his reference to canned fruit, misses the essential point. Our greatest problem today is unemployment. The more we put-chase Xew Zealand goods the"" more men and women we shall put back into work. If we cannot produce what we want in New Zealand, and we know that there are many classes of goods which we cannot manufacture in New Zealand; then the more we buy these goods from the Mother Country the more money she will have to buy our butter, cheese, lamb, etc. We should not blame the sellers. They stock only what the public ask for, and I know many grocers who do their very . best to persuade their customers to buy New Zealandmade goods. The buyers are tho culprits, ! and, as a rule, never stop to think.—l , am, etc., I ■ R. DARROCH.
