Dr. Ernst Fritz Schmid, the Austrian authority on Haydn, has discovered several manuscripts of unknown works by Haydn described ag highly remarkable. They include a gtring quartet in E ♦major from his early period,. and -three pianoforte sonatas in C. A, and D major, from his later years. The works will be published soon.
