MOTOR RACING
ON SUBURBAN ROAD
Two motorists vv-ho engaged in a race along Moxham Avenue shortly before 2 o'clock on a recent morning, appeared before Mr. J. Miller, S.M., at the Magistrate's Court yesterday afternoon on a charge of driving in a manner that mijflit have been dangerous to the public, lhe two defendants,' Phillip E. Ghurcher. and Harold Wood, pleaded guilty. According to Sub-Inspector Martin Churcher was driving along Moxham Avenue towards Kilbirnie nt. 1.45 a.m. when he was overtaken by Wood, who was driving another car. Both cars then engaged in a race and attained a speed of from 45 to 50 m.p.h. The noise, waa so sreat that it attracted trie attention of. Sergeant Duke, whose home fronted Moxham Avenue. • The Magistrate fined each of the accused £3. ■ ■■
