ANGLICAN SYNOD

OPENING SESSION

The second session of the twenty-sixth synod of the Diocese ,of Wellington met yesterday afternoon, under the presidency of the Bishop of Wellington. The following were ; appointed a finance committee: The "Yen. Archdeacon Johnson, Rev. Canon P. E. James, Revs. W. Bullock and W. Langston, Messrs. W. A. Andrews, H. A. Huggins,'W1. H. Maclean, G. Shirtcliffe, S. T. C. Sprott, and J. W. Henderson. Synod also appointed a,select committee to inquire into the financial position of the Maori Mission. The members are the Yen. Archdeacon J.; R. Young/ Rev. Canons W. G. Williams and P. H. Petrie, the Rev. W. Raine, and Messrs. W. F. Newcombe, E. H. Anderson, and Dr. E, E. Porritt.
