"GIRLS' WEEK"

Y.W.CA. CAMPAIGN

Plans for a' "Girls' Week" in Wellington were ■ discussed at a meeting of a special committee^at the Y.W.C.A. last evening.' Mr. D. A. Ewen presided. Reports on tho work being done among girls i were presented by Miss L. W. Bridgman (general secretary oF the Y.W.C.A.). It was decided o appeal for collectors and workers for a house-to-houso canvass during the chosen week, When badges will' be sold, and endeavours made to collect small sums. Miss E. G. Scott (business and finance secretary) said that expressions of willingness to help had'been received from the Women's Christian Temperance Union, Women's Social Progress Movement, Ladies! Auxiliary of the Free Ambulance, \.Salvation Army, Borstal Association, Women's Study Circle, St. John Ambulance Association, guilds of St. Mark's Church and Taranaki Street Methodist Church, Apollo Women's Club, and women residents of i Brooklyn. Further efforts, including "at homes, it was announced, will be held at Kelburn, Hutt, Khandallah, and other places, and a community sing night, will be held in the Blue Triangle Hall on May 16. .
