A FAST CAME
University did well to hold the strong Wellington team to a 1-0 win. A fast pace was maintained from the start, the only goal of the game being scored by Ferguson, who was given al', splendid pass by Ncute early in the first spell. University initiated a series of hot attacks following the reverse, but were faced with, a determined defence, Joblin; Avers', and Coleman, in particular, doing good work in checking the opposing forwards. The University combination showed improvement on that.of the previous Saturday, but the hard hitting indulged in was intercepted very frequently by the Wellington halves. ?Tor some time early in the second spell University held a territorial advantage, until they were forced back and held- in tlieir own half. Wellington reached their circle several times but could not break, through, and from then onwards play alternated, Wellington being slightly superior in the exchanges. The referees were Mcssrs k R. P. Staples and C. Whyte. ■; .
