SENIOK A
KARORI 2, HUIA 1
Interest at Karori Park was centred principally on the Karori-Huia match. The former team won by 2 goals to 1. Both teams were fairly evenly matched in the first spell, but only occasionally did they provide anything like bright hockey. Huia were the faster, but poor attention to the off-side rule, and "sticks,' wore factors which prevented them from scoring at least two goils. ' Karori also lost chances through oS-side play, K. Watchman offending on many occasions,. There waa no score at half-time, ior the greater part of the second half Karori dominated play. Huia scored shortly after resuming, Wheatley being responsible. Thereafter Karori led the attack, and Watchman equalised a little later with an excellent shot. In the ensuing play Jeronison missed an easy shot, but, he made amends later by scoring from just outside the goal mouth. In the closing stages, of the game,' Karori became very aggressive, and only, sound play on the part of the Huia backs prevented them from scoring. The referees were Messrs. C. P. McKenzie and H. J. Smith.
