Kelburn Plunket Society. Officers for the coming year were elected at the recent annual meeting of the Kelburn sub-committee of the Plunket: Society, and are as follows:— President, Mrs. A. 6. Barnett; secretary, Mrs. E. H. Thomas; treasurer, Mrs. R. Carighley; committee, Mesdames L. Blundell, P. D. Cameron, S. J. Castle, A. A. Cramond, W. H. Cunningham, W. D. Ferguson, W. Hammond, F. G. Jolly, K. Kirkealdis, J. T. Martin, C. H. Mirams, Grenfell Morgan,, David White, J. Morcer, and K. Steclc, with power to add. Fancy Dress Ball. A children's plain- and fancy dross ball g.ive.n by Miss Lydia Kaison in lid of St. Luke's Sunday School, Greytown, was held in the Oddfellows' Hall, and proved a great success both financially and socially. During the evening, items were given by Misses Nola Eaison, Dulvie and Ngaire Richards (Masterton), Joan ■ and Betty Feast, and Mary Carter. The fancy dresses were judged by Miss Gregory, and prizes awarded to Nancy Higgison (New Zealand apples), Peter Stevens (sailor), Loma Gray (Irish lass), and Sonny Boyd (Old Man). A basket of sweets, donated by Miss Raison, was won by Neville Cook. Music for dancing was supplied by Mrs. Carter, Misses Lurie and Raison, and Mr. L. Daysh. Reikiorangi-Waikanae Women's Institute. Mrs. Monk presided over a good attendance at the recent meeting, of the Reikiorangi-Waikanae Women's- Institute. The meeting opened with the institute song, after which Sister Mowbray gave an interesting talk on "First Aid," which was greatly appreciated by the members. The competitions were as follows: Best decorated tie or stocking holder, Mrs. H. A. Brown 1, Mrs, Chapman 2, Miss Carter 3; eggless cake, Miss' Campion 1 and 2, Mrs. Deakin 3. The hostesses were Mosdames Best, Meyers, and Stubbings. Card Party for Tree Ambulance. A very successful "500" card evening, arranged by the members of the Scatoun Croquet Club in aid of the Free Ambulance was held in tho Bowling Club pavilion and proved very successful, a large number of people attending. Superintendent F. RofEo and Mrs. Roffo were present. At tho conclusion of the card games the president (Mrs. McGirr) thanked the members and all present for their attendance and support. Mr. Roffe also thanked the members for their continued interest and .support. . The proceeds of this effort amounted to £6 16s 6d. Invitations Issued. Invitations have been issued by the Wellington Symphony Orchestra for a reception to be held at the Midland Hotel next Wednesday in honour of Messrs. Jascha Spivakovsky, Tossy SpiyakoTsky, and Edmund Kurtz,
