OBITUARY
MR. P. H. HARPER, S.M,
(By Telepraph.—l'resn Association.) CHKISTCHUECH, May 7. The death occurred here today of Mr. Philip Hamilton Harper, Stipendiary Magistrate at Gisborne since 1929 until some months ago, when he suffered injuries in a fall over a cliff while fishing. Ho came to Christchurch for advice, and died after an operation. Tho lato Mr. Harper was a son of Mr. George Harper, 0.8. E., and was born at Papanui in ISB2. He was educated jyivate.lv and at Christchurch Boys' High School, and practised as a barrister and solicitor at Levin from 1907 to 1929. ...He served in the South African War with the Bth N.Z.M.K., and in the Great War with the Main Body N.Z.E.F., returning to New Zea.land as captain. Ho leaves a widow, two sons, and, one daughter.
