FOR MOTHERS' HELPERS
LARGE BRfDGE PARTY
Funds to carry 011 the growing work of the society, being urgently needed, the committee of the- Mothers' Helpers organised a monster bridge party, which was held yesterday afternoon at the Midland Hotel. The large dining-room and the drawing-room were filled with tables, and sonio "overflowed" into the lounge. A prize was given for- a hidden score, and was wot. by Mrs. Price. During tea, which was served at the' tables by members of the committee, Mrs. E. P. Norman, who with Mrs.. J. Pai'ling, had convened the party, expressed the committee's thanks to Mrs. B\ Dwyer, who had so generously given tide uso of the. rooms. . Sho also extended thanks to Mr. S. tj. Williams and Company and the Pioneor Club for the loan of tables. Speaking of the "Motto" calendar, Mrs. Norman stated that alrotady' many well-known. Wellington puople had given mottoes, but there wain room still for more. Mombers of the committee, who had baen working hard' for some weeks arranging tables, were Mesdames E. P...
