VALUES IN PETONE
A' revaluation of Petone- was urged by Mr. D. M. Dickson,\ candidate for the Petone Borough Council and the Petone and Lower Hutt Gas Lighting Board, at the Civic League "ticket" meeting last night. There was no doubt, he said, that many properties in Petone, originally ■ over-valued, had been reduced on revaluation,.at a loss' to tho .borough because of the ' consequently reduced Tatcs. To make tho rato payment more 6quitable the Borough Council should make every endeavour to secure a revaluation of thp whole borough. ; ■ . Later in the meeting, Mr. H. C. Jay, a candidate for the1 Petone Borough. Council,, disagreed with Mr. Dickson's suggestion, pointing out that a reduction in values would mean an increase in rates.
