Speaking at Roseneath, Mr. E. Semple, M.P., appealed to ,the electors to rally to .the poll. "Our assets/'-said Mr. Semplc, ' "amount to • over £8,000,000, so we have a wonderful city and our municipal undertakings are of real value to the citiz&ns. Surely, tbe management of such a city should attract the interest of its_ shareholders, •'who are the citizens. Thousands of pounds, he said, are being wasted on the' relief of unemployment in tho city. What was wanted was a council composed of practical men capable oJ? undertaking work of real and lasting value. The Labour ticket contained ■ such men,- who have been trained in" the hard school of expeii- : encc. ■ !
